Color can change your life

You share your design desires with us——-we will share our styling secrets and experience with you.

Color is our topic today and every day, since the name of our business is “colorizing interiors” we would like to introduce you to “the language of color”.

The language of color is after all a way to express one’s self. The prime factor is to bring about a fresh lift of Spirit to the clients upon entering their rooms. When using color there are considerations, firstly though, remember color does reflect personality and that is so important to understand. There are other considerations as well, like the size of the rooms, ceiling height and exposure all of which have a bearing on the selections of your colors.

Tricks using color

Color can perform magical deeds in camouflaging and rejuvenating parts of your home or the entire home. Do you find yourself thinking”:

  • Is my ceiling too high?
  • How can I make my small room feel larger?
  • Is my sofa too small or is my table to large?

Where to use color

There is no set rule as to which part of the home should have the greatest accent of colors. Floors, walls, window coverings, furniture, lamps or pendants, are all strategic points on which color can be focused. Color can also be emphasized in paint on wall coverings even in upholstery.

One color should not be used throughout. We believe a contrast of harmonious blending of several colors will bring about an interesting character to the house.

Please don’t experiment hastily with color schemes….it can be costly. Always, use large sample boards with your desired colors so that you can envision how your walls will look.

Remember, “Color can change your life”; let us help you find your comfort zone with color!!

8 Tips For Finding the Perfect Interior Designer

January 23rd, 2013 by goadmin in Designer Tips

038Did you know that family-owned Colorizing Interiors specializes in Tucson Interior Designs for any size home or office?  We take the time to listen to your likes, dislikes, needs, and wants to deliver the perfectly designed home or office.  Whether it is taking what you already have and making it better by re-upholstering or refurbishing, or completely taking over the project and choosing your furniture, we can do it all.  It is important to shop around when you are looking for the perfect designer for your home or office and we know how tricky finding the best one could be.  When you are in the need of an excellent designer, keep these tips in mind:

1.) Style – Does their style fit yours? If you had a chance to flip through their portfolio you can notice whether or not their style fits your own or whether they can deliver on your needs.  Take time to discuss what you want and make sure their suggestions fit your palate.

2.) Personal Attention – If your designer is not taking time to listen to you and hear your suggestions or responses to their suggestions, you might want to keep looking.  It takes time to understand how to make a room uniquely you, and if your interior designer isn’t doing that, show them the door.

3.) Word of Mouth Marketing - It may be over-used, but people generally trust what other people have to say about you first. Find references and call them to determine if their level of work meets your needs.

4.) Reputable Websites - Is their website up to date? Can you view pictures of some of their work on their website, and is their contact information listed online? Quality websites are like a waiting room for your business and a poorly designed one might scare you away.

5.) Portfolio - Look through their portfolio.  If you can see the quality of work represented in their portfolio they may be a match for you.  If they don’t have one, it might be a sign to run.

6.) Years in Business - How long have they been in business?  We are not suggesting to stay away from newly-formed businesses, but experience can be key in understanding your style needs.

7.) Professionalism - How a designer presents themselves can often also be a deciding factor for your search for the perfect one.  Make sure you are comfortable with your designer so that speaking with them is never difficult or intimidating.

8.) Easy to Contact - Though you had to have been in contact with them to get to this step, do they answer the phones when you call?  How long does it take for them to get back to you, and how difficult is it for you to contact them online?  You deserve personalized attention and someone to answer your call when you need them.
